Comprising a 340 berth floating marina, boating academy, waterfront support services, newly built clubhouse, reciprocal rights with yacht clubs worldwide and a 24 hour fuel dock, SYC offers Melbourne sailors an incomparable place to base their sailing lifestyle.
To help protect the environment, and Melbourne's Port Phillip Bay from cigarette butt litter, SYC has installed No BuTTs Eco-Pole Wall & Post-mounted Ashtrays around their property, including the Ken King Centre, located literally at the water's edge. No BuTTs Windproof Ashtrays are also placed on all outdoor tables located on their club house balcony, overlooking Port Phillip Bay.
"Despite the fact that stainless steel is supposed to be rust proof, the reality is that our marine environment is very harsh. The previous wall-mounted ashtrays we had installed had tarnished and began to rust and corrode, and we also had problems with rubbish clogging them, so the completion of the new facilities was a great opportunity to upgrade our ashtrays." said Paul Gascoigne, Marina & Yard Manager at SYC."
