Melbourne's leading boat sales business, Melbourne Boat Sales, together with their sister company Marine Solutions, has gone butt litter free.
Melbourne Boat Sales has taken delivery of their Eco-Pole Freestanding Bollard Ashtray/Cigarette Pole - and is also making Mini-Butts Personal Ashtrays available free to all customers and visitors.
"It's not uncommon to have half a dozen people at one time standing outside our office, perusing the info sheets on display in our shop front window on all the boats we have for sale," said Lee Vitiello, owner of Melbourne Boat Sales and Marine Solutions.

"We noticed that people were often smoking while they did it. It occured to us that it would be really good for the environment - and our showroom's appearance to help them to do the right thing with their cigarette butts. After all, they're there because we are, so it was obvious that in some ways their cigarette butt litter was our responsibility." said Lee.
Melbourne Boat Sales / Marine Solutions staff now place a portable freestanding Eco-Pole Bollard/Post Ashtray outside their showroom during business hours so that any visitors and passers-by can properly dispose of their cigarette butts.
Melbourne Boat Sales and Marine Solutions staff are now also including Mini-Butts personal ashtray butt bins in every New Owners Pack provided to the purchasers of all boats from Melbourne Boat Sales.
"No BuTTs personal ashtrays are a great way to protect the environment by assisting our customers to do the right thing with their butts - and they're also great eco-friendly advertising for our companies," said Lee. "Our life revolves around the ocean and we love the idea of protecting Melbourne's bays, rivers and waterways from cigarette butt litter. It's the right thing to do."
"We've also made our Personal Ashtrays available from our office by using one of No BuTTs Mini-Butts dispensers and we invite everyone who cares about the environment to drop by and pick one up for free."
